For 75 years, LIFE Mower County has been a place where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are welcomed, valued, and supported.

For 40 years, Our Place Recreation Center has provided a safe and inclusive space where people can build friendships, learn new skills, and experience the joy of belonging.

Together, these milestones represent decades of advocacy, recreation, family support, and community connection.

These anniversaries will be celebrated in 2027, and we are already working on special events and activities to recognize these milestones. Throughout the year, we will invite our community, families, volunteers, and supporters to join us in celebrating the history, impact, and future of LIFE Mower County and Our Place Recreation Center.

As we celebrate these anniversaries in 2027, we honor the people, families, volunteers, and supporters who have helped LIFE grow into the organization it is today — and we look forward to continuing this work for generations to come.

​Help Us Tell 75 Stories for 75 Years!

In 2027, LIFE Mower County will celebrate its 75th Anniversary, and we want to celebrate the people who have made LIFE what it is today. Throughout the year, we will share 75 Stories of Impact from LIFE members, families, volunteers, staff, donors, supporters, and community partners. We want to hear your LIFE story! Tell us why you are connected to LIFE Mower County, how LIFE has benefited you or your family, and what LIFE means to you. Your story can be about a favorite memory, a friendship you have made, an activity or program you enjoy, the support your family has received, or simply why LIFE is important to you. Stories can be short or long—what matters most is hearing from the people who are part of LIFE's story. Help us celebrate 75 years by sharing your story!

Drive LIFE Forward Campaign –
​Help Fund Our Next Vehicle

Transportation helps make many LIFE Mower County experiences possible.

LIFE Mower County currently has one bus that plays an important role in connecting our members to activities and opportunities.

Our bus is used for community activities, Special Olympics events, day trips, vacations, and other experiences beyond our building. It also provides transportation to and from the LIFE building for members participating in LIFE activities.
Whether we are traveling across town for an activity, heading to a Special Olympics event, taking a day trip, or leaving town for a vacation, our bus helps make these experiences possible.
Having a safe and reliable vehicle allows our members to get out into the community, try new experiences, build friendships, and take part in activities they choose.

Through our Drive LIFE Forward Campaign, we are raising funds to help purchase our next vehicle so we can continue providing these opportunities for years to come.
